Look what Santa brought

Look how generous Santa was this year.
We finally got fed up repairing the jeep and decided it was time to get a new vehicle. Figured we may as well do it in style.
The kids love it and want to ride in the truck all the time.
The best part is, Bob wants to run errands, any excuse to drive the new truck and he is gone.

Christmas again

We celebrated Christmas with Bob's family today over at his brother's house. The kids all had a ball and enjoyed even more toys. Queta picked out the noisiest gun I have ever heard for Caden. I am already plotting my revenge for next year. ha ha ha
Bob's Mom was in town so it was really nice.

Happy 5th birthday Spencer

Where has the time gone?? My baby is just growing up too fast. He amazes me every day with the things he comes out with and how smart he is, I am so proud of him!!
We had a party here at the house with a few of his friends.
It went well and they all had fun. We played pin the tail on the donkey and decorated balloons with sticker faces. After lunch, the cake and the presents we went outside and broke opened a pinata. All the kids enjoyed that. I made sure that ALL the candy inside left with the kids.
We just stayed home and played with his toys the rest of the day.
He got a sponge bob cd player and when his favorite song "Numa Numa" would come on you could not hear the tv over his singing, it was hilarious.

When I put him to bed last night I told him that he would not be 4 anymore and that when he woke up he would be 5. He looked at me strangely and asked if I was going to turn a clock in his tummy when he was asleep. I love kids perspective on things.

Happy Christmas

Sydney keeps saying "Happy Christmas", not Merry Christmas.
We had a great day today. We were teasing the kids before we came downstairs and asking if they thought Santa had come or not. We looked out the window and the carrots we left for the reindeer were almost gone and the water was tipped over, that just added to their excitement.
We came downstairs together and they just flipped out at the presents. They tore into them immediately.
Caden got kind of tired opening presents and wanted to play with the toys he just opened. Spencer thought opening was the fun part. Grandpa gave him a digital camera and he took pictures of EVERY toy he opened. Peyton could not get enough of opening presents either. She just hung on to all her stuff and opened the next one. She was surrounded and no one was allowed to touch her stuff. Sydney thought the whole present thing was great.
Everything they opened we had to open the package and take all the parts out. There were toys EVERYWHERE.
We had a wonderful turkey dinner for supper (minus the gingerbread house dessert) ha
I forgot to throw it out last night and they noticed it it was deformed right away. Bob told them that Rudolf ate the trees and licked it, they believed him. We read the letter that Santa left for the kids too, he even mentioned that Rudolf ate the house.
The best present for us was to watch the kids faces as they opened their presents.

Visions of sugarplums

Merry Christmas Eve to everyone!!!!
We have been doing our last minute running around as usual today. We made our first gingerbread house. The kids really got into decorating it and it turned out great!! I think they ate more of the decorations than they actually put on the house though.
We baked some sugar cookies for Santa and and wrote him a letter and drew him some pictures. We left milk and cookies out for him and water and carrots for the reindeer. Spencer must really think he is hungry as he left a bunch. We let them open a present tonight too......flashing toothbrushes. We sang Christmas carols and then read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and tucked all the littles ones in bed to have "visions of sugarplums dance in their heads". When we came downstairs we discovered the dog had EATEN all of Santa's cookies, I was not impressed. Then I came into the kitchen to find what was left of our gingerbread house. He had eaten all the trees and a bunch of candy and there was lick marks all over it. Needless to say he is outside now. Bob and I are going to finish wrapping and put the presents out for tomorrow morning.
Wait...........I think I hear Santa coming.

May Santa bring you all you desire for the coming year!!!

Lights

The kids just love the Christmas lights. We took them to see a light display tonight. They just scream in delight and want to stop everytime we see lights. They have to point out all the characters and shapes to you too.
Spencer is so excited about Santa coming he can't stand it. He told Bob that he and his brother and sisters were getting toys, Mommy was getting a new computer (I wish) and that Daddy was getting coal. ha ha ha
We have been working on our advent calendar and its almost done. We have a print out of Santa and everynight we have added a cotton ball and when his beard, moustache and hat trim are done...........its Christmas!!!!!

Night night

The little ones have decided they no longer need naps...sigh!!
They will not stay in their cribs at nap time anymore. They get up and jump in each others beds and empty the dresser and closet. I have to be guard dog outside their door and issue threats to TRY to get them to stay in bed. I guess I need to face reality and realize my babies are done with their cribs and need to move on to big beds.
I thought they had finally gone to sleep this afternoon as all was very quiet in their room. I go in to discover Sydney and Caden laying on the floor as far in the closet as they could get and Peyton removing blankets from the closet and covering them up. They must have had 10 blankets each. When she saw me she immediately layed down too and said "night night".

Only in Texas

I took the kids out this morning and we ran into a little festival where they were shaving ice to make snow. They were all thrilled and wanted to play in it.
It was 65 degrees here today so I am sure you can tell where this story is going. The crushed ice began melting in minutes and Peyton immediately fell into a 2" deep puddle. I dragged everyone out of the deep slush and was then pelted in the head by a slush ball. I was soaked. The kids were getting hit too by the older kids throwing it. My camera even got nailed. None of the kids were having fun. We got out of there as fast as we could. I asked them later if they wanted to play in the snow and they started chanting "no more snow, no more snow". Spencer told me he doesn't like pretend snow because its too wet. ha ha ha
We did get to see a couple of reindeer though which made up for the "snow"ball fight.
We then had a picnic in the park and they thoroughly enjoyed that.

Letter to Santa

Spencer wrote his very own letter to Santa this year. It was just too cute for words. He told me exactly what he wanted to say and I told him how to spell the words.
I will translate in case you can't read it.
"Dear Santa
I love you
I want some toys
No coal
Love
Spencer"
We have been waiting for a reply and got one. Spencer was absolutely thrilled that Santa wrote back to him. Just click the letter to make it bigger to read.
I just love Christmas through the eyes of a child.

Fun at the library

I took the kids to the library this morning for a puppet show. Santa was there for a visit afterwards too. They loved the puppet show, all you could hear was giggles. Peyton was thrilled with a puppet that looked like a princess and let everyone know that she was a princess. ha ha ha

The 3 of us are 3!!!

Happy 3rd birthday to my "babies". I can't believe they are 3 years old already.
We had a great day, we spent the morning playing and then we had some friends over to celebrate. All the kids love to have company so they really enjoyed their party.
They got TONS of great gifts, thank you everyone!!!! Peyton was thrilled with all her princess stuff. It suits her personality so well. Caden loved his cars and tools, he is such a boy. Sydney is easy to please and loved all her stuff from princesses to dogs to dolls.
We got them a v-smile game and they are doing pretty good with it. We have to sit and help them, but they are really getting the hang of it.
They really enjoyed having us sing happy birthday and blowing out the candles. The cake was huge hit too.

Christmas tree farm

We took the kids to High Star Christmas Tree Farm today with my local multiples group, the kids loved it. They all sat on Santa's knee and there was NO crying this year. Peyton was not really happy, but didn't cry or push him away. They all hugged him as we were leaving too. We took them on a wagon ride to check out the trees and let them walk around in all the trees too and they thought that was really neat.
I took them for haircuts later............I should have done that before the pictures.
