Shoe on!!!

Nothing is slowing Peyton down these days. She is running on her cast and it doesn't bother her one bit.
I wrap it in a bag and put one of my socks on her when we go out to keep it from getting totally filthy.
I bought her some sandals and they have about a 1/2 inch sole so it makes her legs more even. She will freak out and cry "shoe on!!" if you try to take it off. Its so funny.

Happy Easter

Our Easter was delayed by a few days because of Caden being sick, but it was still great and the kids really enjoyed themselves.
They enjoyed hunting for eggs, but enjoyed eating all the candy more!!! They love "shoklat"!!!!!

The vomitorium

Caden has been so sick!!! He got rotovirus from the children's museum on Thursday night I think. He started on Friday with vomitting at least every 5 to 10 minutes for the entire night. Needless to say I had to call in sick all weekend.
I talked to his pediatrician on Monday who said that he should be admitted to the hospital for IV fluids, but he knew how hard that would be for me with the other kids. We agreed to try forcing gatoraid in him with a syringe since he would NOT drink it. That went over really well........I am sure the neighbours thought I was killing him with the screams. At least it helped a bit and his mouth was not dry. He couldn't even wet his little lips before that his mouth was so dry.
Whenever he would throw up he would look at me all pathetic and say "sorry mommy". Broke my heart to see him like this.
He is still sick, but getting better slowly every day.
This is very contagious and I am just hoping that the other kids don't catch it or I am moving far away from the city of poopopolous!!!!
My whole house is going to need to be steam cleaned when we are done. It was so bad, I had resorted to wearing Bob's shorts on Sunday as he had pooped or puked on all my clothes!

Peyton's boo boo

Well Peyton has officially broken her leg. She broke her tibia (the big shin bone) near her ankle. She is in a cast for about 3 weeks and we will get another x-ray and hopefully it can come off. She was a trooper yesterday. We spent from 11am until almost 6pm in the medical center seeing dr's and getting x-rays. She was so good considering if was right in the middle of nap time.
She now has a hot pink cast up to her knee. She will still not walk on it. She started crawling a little today to get around, but everytime she puts any weight on it she yells "owww".
Really doesn't seem to bother her unless she tries to stand. She keeps wanting down so I put her down and she immediately says "up me!!!" She is going to get sick of sitting on her butt soon.

Easter egg hunts

I took the weekend off work and we took the kids to two different Easter egg hunts. Saturday was our neighbourhood one and Sunday was one with my Mothers of multiples group. The kids really enjoyed and Spencer got a bunch of eggs. They didn't even mind posing with the Easter bunny this year.
Peyton fell on the jungle gym on Sunday and won't put any weight on her left leg. We will see how it is tomorrow morning.

Swimming in the ice water.......well not quite

Spencer went swimming today for the first time this year. The water was only 77 degrees. I was hoping he remembered how to swim from last year as I certainly did not want to jump in to save him. (what a good mommy huh lol) I won't get in until its at least 85 degrees.
He jumped in and came up with a look of total shock and told me the water was cold. That did not stop him however from swimming for about 30 minutes. The babies missed out as they were napping. Yes he is wearing his underwear. His bathing suit was in the babies room.
I just love kids and how they get such enjoyment out of the little things.

Mini me

Caden's name should be "mini me". He follows Spencer around and does everything that he does. Spencer was running around with his nap sack (or back hack as he calls it) and Caden saw him and he had to have one on too. He is like his little shadow. Spencer loves the attention too.

Happy birthday Bob

Bob just turned the big 42!!! We went out for supper with some friends to our favourite Mexican restaurant....Los Cucos. They sang happy birthday to Bob and then smeared whipped cream in his face. He was really happy about that.
We came home and sang happy birthday and did cake and presents.

Rain rain go away...

Spencer, Sydney and Caden LOVE the rain. Spencer runs around like mad in it and the little ones run around looking up saying "rain" and signing it with big smiles.
Peyton on the other hand HATES the rain. She puts her head down and cries calling "mommy - mommy".

Little minions

This is what I walked in to this morning when I went in to get the "babies" up.
Caden has torn a huge hole in his crib tent now. He can fit out the hole to wreak havoc.
I don't know how Sydney had her crib rail down on one side and crooked.
They were all so proud of themselves. The baby monitor was even disconnected and thrown on the floor again. Before they threw it on the floor they used it to make tons of little dents in the walls and remove the paint in those spots.
Notice the crooked drawers? Bob has fixed them too many times to count now.
I must have done something really bad to deserve this!!!!
I am going to try and sew up the instigators crib tent and see if that helps. lol

Mud bugs

Its crawfish season here in Texas. We had a feast of it today. They are so good too. Its just so much trouble trying to get to the little morsel of meat. What is particularly gross is removing the "poop tube" that is full of poop. After you get around that issue they are really very good.

Sugar and spice and everything nice

Girls are so much fun!! I painted the girls toe nails last night for the first time. They love them too. They keep looking and them and saying "pretty toes". Its just too cute.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day from all of us.
The kids had a ball doing their craft and Caden didn't even mind doing his handprint this time. He HATED it and screamed at Christmas when we tried.

Duckies

We took the kids to feed the "duckies" today. They LOVE to do that. Of course I think the babies eat more of the bread then they actually let the ducks have.
Then we walked and ran around the pond. The babies all getting so good at staying close and not running away. (at least not too far away)
They pick the dandelions and think they are beautiful.

Going to the zoo zoo zoo

Took the kids to the zoo yesterday to meet Bob after work. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Took us two hours to get there .......... normally a 45 minute trip. It is spring break and I guess EVERYONE had the same idea as me.
We were stuck in traffic and turned the corner only to see about a million or so cars still ahead of us and Spencer comes out with "Jesus Christ Mommy, look at all those cars". Funny, that is just what I was thinking!!!!
We had a great time at the zoo once we finally made it. The kids ate oreo cookies for supper, much better than the sandwiches and fruit that I brought for them.

Caden

Well, Caden has figured out how to unzip his crib tent. I put the babies to bed yesterday for their afternoon nap and all I could hear was laughing and yelling and jumping and banging and then the baby monitor was all static. I went upstairs to yell at them and make them go to sleep and I had a hard time opening the door. The problem was clothes......everywhere. Caden had unzipped his crib tent and thrown all the clothes all over the floor. Peyton was his evil accomplice. Sydney was only innocent because she can't reach the dresser from her crib.
He had also taken all the drawers out and they were scattered on the floor. He was quite proud of himself for his accomplishment too.
Today his crib tent is safety pinned shut. Lets see how long it takes him to figure that out.

Rodeo

Bob and I took the kids to the rodeo on Wednesday. A feat worthy of rodeo competitors!! They all did great considering we were out for about 12 hours. Its so nice now that the "babies" are getting a little older. They will actually listen to you SOMETIMES which makes outings much better.
They all loved the animals and the rides. Sydney kept signing and saying chicken all day. Spencer wanted to stay and watch the chicken hatch. Caden loved the petting zoo. Peyton is just like mommy and her favorite was the fried oreos. lol
Spencer really enjoyed the big rides too. His favorite was the water slide with daddy, he was just beaming when he got off. Mommy also got to take him on her favorite ride, the snowball.

Soccer game

Well, Bob survived Spencer's first soccer game all by himself. He took the babies to child watch at the YMCA and even did picture day.
He said that Spencer didn't want to play soccer though.......he wanted to play in child watch. Gotta love kids!

sick and tired

The kids were all sick and I am tired. Peyton and Caden started with the flu and then Spencer and Sydney got it. Poor Spencer got the worst of it with a temperature of 105.9 I got sick and could hardly move on Thursday. It was just more fun than I can describe looking after all the kids while sick.
Everyone seems to be on the mend now.

Baptism

We had the babies baptized today.
God Parents:
Peyton: Sharyon Darby and Kevin Gerger (John Darby as proxy)
Sydney: Jan and Steve Hartman
Caden: Beth Augustine and Shawn Gerger (James Tabor as proxy)
It went off smoothly and was really nice. Other than them wanting to run and play on the alter they were pretty well behaved.
They were just adorable in their little outfits. They were afraid of the photographer though as you can see. lol Spencer was too cute all dressed up as well.
We had everyone back to the house for hotdogs and hamburgers afterwards. The babies received wonderful keepsakes of the event from God parents and friends. We would like to thank them all VERY much!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

We had fun with this craft. Traced the kids handprints and then made it into the sign for "I love you". Pasted each of their photos in the palm.
