There was a pet (Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Mardi Gras) parade and children's parade so it was not too rowdy. I love the name of the pet parade! They had a ball and caught lots of beads. 
Peyton was whining because she did not catch a little stuffed toy. I think she will survive though. Caden is just too sweet and whenever someone else would grab for the same bead he would always let go and let them have it. Then of course he would whine to me. lol They were too cute with their little arms up waving for beads. They told me that they want to be IN the parade next year and throw the beads. 
We took them on a ferry ride afterwards and they really enjoyed that. We even managed NOT to get pooped on by the million seagulls soaring overheard. 
We need to go down there more often.
We walked on to the beach to watch the waves for a few minutes too.
Its getting back to normal after the hurricane, but you can still see lots of damage.
