Easter egg hunts

Yesterday we did our annual Easter egg hunt with my multiples group. It was great, we always have a ball when we get together with them. They hid TONS of eggs and we had our very own Easter bunny for pictures.
Caden was afraid of the bunny, but agreed to sit for a picture as long as the bunny did not touch him in any way.
We played in the park for a while and visited with friends.

Then today we went to our church's Easter egg hunt. Peyton was mad because she ONLY got 8 eggs...poor thing. Spencer was sweet and told her that they would all share their eggs. More pictures with the Easter bunny then home.
We are all tired today from such a busy weekend.

Sports anyone??

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. We have been having computer problems and no internet connection. I think I need CA (computer anonymous). I have been having some serious withdrawal. But, alas I am back and with LOTS of posts to catch up on. We have been to soccer, Easter egg hunts and to Sea World. I will try to get caught up soon.

We took the kids for their first soccer games this morning. Spencer went to child watch while the little ones played in their first game.

All the kids there were whining even the ones that weren't mine. Caden would not stop crying because I was making him wear his soccer shirt. I finally gave up and let him take it off and he was willing to play then which was good as a few other kids were still whining and would not play and they needed him for numbers. He just blew me away he was so good. He scored our teams only two goals and loved it. He took the ball from one end of the field to the other and then kicked it right in the net. The other team had a couple of boys that thought they were playing football as everytime they came near Caden they grabbed his shirt and knocked him down and then piled on top of him. Poor little guy has a few scrapes and bruises, but he loved it and the coach called him her superstar.

The girls enjoyed it too. Peyton is such a girl, she announced that she was tired of running. She did kick the ball ONCE and a whole six inches or so too. lol Sydney said she needed a break and had a ball cheering Caden on. I see cheerleading in her future.
The girls really did do well, Caden just stole the show.

After their game I rushed to change the girls in to their ballet outfits and get Spencer so he could go to his game. The girls said they enjoyed ballet more. lol

Spencer is doing great this year and really enjoys it. His best friend Tanner is on the same team too.

My little ninja

Spencer tested for his yellow stripes in tae kwon do tonight.
He did awesome and got both stripes and then even broke a board. I better be nice to him as he will be able to kick my butt soon.
He was so proud of himself too and he should be, he worked hard for this. He had to do three routines and get the kicks and punches all correct and he did a great job. He even got to spar with his teacher tonight and all you could hear were giggles. His teacher is awesome and is so great with the kids.

Go Texan Day

Spencer's school had their Go Texan Day today. He just looked so cute all dressed up. He thought he was cool too.
They wanted volunteers to help with activities they had planned all morning and then with a big cowboy feast. I wasn't able to go as I would not have been ANY help with the three little ones tagging along. I am so sad I missed it.
Spencer said his teacher even brought her horse and rode around some barrels to show them in the playground.
He got chosen to stand and tell the horse "whoa" and make it stop.

Sorry I have not posted in a while. We have all been passing the stomach flu around to each other for weeks now. Not much to write when you are stuck in the house.

Basketball

Spencer started basketball today at the YMCA. What difference a year makes. He did NOT get the whole dribbling the ball thing last year at all, it was hilarious. He has it this year and is doing great. He really seemed to enjoy it. The girls have ballet at the same time so Bob chose to stay in basketball with Spencer. (big surprise there lol)
Had to include a picture of him on the way to the car as it was just cute.

Elmo

I took the kids to see Sesame Street Live: When Elmo Grows up today. They just loved it. Sydney wanted Zoe to come home with us so she could hug her. Sydney is mad in the group picture because I wanted to get a picture before I opened the cotton candy. What a mean Mommy I am. And yes that is a big bruise above her right eye from jumping in her bed when she is supposed to be sleeping. She fell right into her side rail.

Peyton insisted on wearing the glasses Spencer wore to his 100th day of school ALL day.
We had great seats too right on the floor. We went with our local multiples group, it was nice to see everyone again.
After the show I took everyone for a pizza lunch and then we spent over two hours in traffic trying to get home...gotta love Houston.

100th day

It was the 100th day of school today and they had the kids dress like old people and do crafts and projects to do with the number 100. Spencer got a ribbon because he could count to 100 by 1's, 5's and 10's, he is so smart.

I had to rush to get him ready this morning as I was working and we have to leave the house early to get everyone to their daycare and babysitter. He still managed to look pretty cute I think. I put baby powder in his hair to make it grey and put wrinkles on his face with grey eye liner and got some reading glasses and popped out the lenses. He wanted to wear a suit, but the pants were too short so he wore the jacket with suspenders and a cane. He looked like a rich old man his babysitter said.He was quite proud of how he looked too.

Yes, I know his hair is long and he needs a haircut...he was sick last week when everyone else went. lol

Ouch

The kids all went for their well kid check ups today. I always take them together and get it all over with in one visit.
They did really good until it was vaccination time. Spencer told me he was not going to cry and he was going to be brave. Well that only lasted until the needle peirced his skin. When it was all done he said to me " Mommy, I'm sorry I cried - it was just too hard not to!" That was just way to cute.
Spencer only got one needle, but the little ones got three each. Sydney was screaming "no no no" when they were going to stick the second one in. I felt so bad for them all. Caden was pulling up his pants as fast as I could pull them down so they couldn't stick his leg. Peyton was crying too so it was a VERY noisy room. They had two nurses come in and do it so the torture would not last as long. They stopped crying as soon as they left.
Then they ALL held their arms the entire time we walked to the car which took about 10 minutes. I wish I had my camera as it was just too cute.
They are all doing really well, here are their stats.

Spencer
47 1/2 inches (90th percentile)
44 1/4 pounds (50th percentile)
Peyton
41 1/2 inches (90th percentile)
39 pounds (85th percentile)
Sydney
41 inches (75th percentile)
34 pounds (50th percentile)
Caden
43 1/2 inches ( 95th percentile)
41 1/2 pounds (90th percentile) He gained a half a pound in a little over two weeks. He had lost weight when he had mono so he is definitley on the mend. All the chocolate pudding is working. lol

We took them to Chuck E Cheeses when we were all done for a treat, they love that place.

Brave boy

Spencer went to the dentist yesterday to have two of his baby teeth pulled out. I was way more worried about it than he was. He lost his two bottom teeth in the middle and his permanent teeth are coming in really crooked. The dentist said we should pull the ones on either side to allow his permanent teeth to come in straighter. Its kind of like robbing Peter to pay Paul. Just before the next two permanent teeth start to emerge we will pull the next two. He says he will still DEFINITELY need braces, but that this will help a lot. He has a little jaw like his Mama.
I am sure all four of them will have this too, I better start saving NOW!!!! Yikes!!

They put some numbing gel on his gums then injected freezing as well. He wore a little mask with nitrous oxide while we did it too. He really didn't need it, but I figured it couldn't hurt. He was not nervous in the least. He told me today that he had "fun" at the dentist..........I know - strange child! The only thing that bothered him was holding the gauze in his mouth for a little while until it stopped bleeding.
He said his lip felt fat afterwards from the freezing. It was hilarious to see him try to have a drink for the first time. I did NOT have the video camera on either. Can you believe it, me not video taping the kids. ;)

He drew a picture of the tooth fairy coming in his room and a picture of him at the dentist and wrote her a note to leave under his pillow. He wrote the note all by himself so I will translate. "Spencer T. I went to the dentist to get to pull my two teeth". We put both his teeth under the pillow too. Remember he lost his two teeth that fell out on their own.
She left him some new toothpaste and a $10 bill for each tooth. ( I know its a bit steep, but he was so good and brave to have them pulled)

His gums were a little sore this morning so the littles ones and I took him some shells and cheese and yogurt and surprised him at school for lunch. He was thrilled and his mouth didn't hurt anymore at all he told me. His teacher said he couldn't wait for journal time this morning so he could draw and picture and write about his teeth. He showed almost everyone his missing teeth.

Bowling fun

We took the kids bowling today at Main Event. I think Bob and I needed the bumpers up when it was our turn too.
I haven't been bowling in years and we all really enjoyed it.
We managed to finish one and a half games in two hours. It would take 5 minutes for Peyton's ball to finally make it all the way down the lane to the pins. A few times it actually stopped before it made it there too and we had to go get it. Good thing the other kids are patient.

My little ballerinas

Sydney and Peyton started ballet today. They had a ball, Sydney told me "I had SO much fun dancing today" when they were done. They were just adorable in their little outfits too. The girls did everything their teacher asked them to, it was just too cute to watch them do their little poses and moves.
They kept looking over and me during class and flashing me their beautiful smiles. They just thought they were little princesses.

I wanted to put Caden in class with them, but he is so painfully shy there is no way he would have done anything with the parents watching. Maybe next time. Besides he is still not feeling up to par. He is a little better and has started eating some more so hopefully he will be back to his mischevious self soon.

Tae Kwon Do

Spencer has starting taking Tae Kwan Do at the YMCA. He has been asking for about a year to take karate. As someone who has no clue about this sport - they are all the same and they offered this at the Y.
He really seems to enjoy it. It is my least favorite sport to watch so far though. The instructors are very strict with the kids and he doesn't seem to mind at all.
They learned how to do jump kicks today. Now lets just hope he does not come home and pratice these techniques on his brother and sisters.
He wants a uniform too, but I am not convinced he will stick with this so am not going to waste money. I told him when he finishes this class if he still wants to do it we will get him a uniform. He ran to me when class was done and asked if he could get a uniform now? I guess I should have been more specific about finishing this whole session of classes first. I will not dress him in dark green next time so he stands out so much though.

Poor little Caden

Let the illnesses begin AGAIN!

Poor little Caden has not been feeling well for a few weeks now and I just figured he would get over it. (Thats the bad part about having an icu nurse for a Mommy) ;)
He was not just getting better and looked awful on Monday so I called and took him in. He also looked like he lost some weight. He weighed 40 pounds in July and only 41 now so I was right. He has mono!!! Its unusual for young kids to show symptoms, but leave it to him. He is just exhausted and has a VERY sore throat. He has already had it for about 3 weeks or so I am guessing, so should be getting more energy soon. Spencer has complained about being tired and having a sore throat on and off so I am sure he has it too. The girls seem fine, but may have it with no symtoms.........they way they are supposed to get it at this age.
The doctor wants to repeat blood work in a couple of weeks as his viral level is VERY high, more than normal.
When the lab tech drew his blood on Monday she got in the vein right away and then jerked the needle out and had to stick him again. He was not impressed and his tears were dripping down onto my arm. He was just crying quietly and saying "no more mommy, no more mommy". Just broke my heart. I have not told him he needs more blood work, we will just surprise him. No need for him to worry about it for two weeks.
The girls however, thought the whole thing was very cool. When the tech put the tube in her hand they were not impressed and informed her that they could not see the blood now. lol

Ice Skating

Its been a while since I posted, I have been working a bunch...yuk.
We took the kids ice skating last night after work. Caden was not feeling great so he tried it for just a little bit and then was done. Spencer thought it was really neat and enjoyed it. The girls just amazed me. We rented the little "ice walkers" that help them stand up. I took them around once and they were fine on their own. I could not even keep up with Peyton. They skated the whole two hours and wanted more.
I don't think Bob was able to let go of the wall the whole time he skated. lol
Sorry the pictures are so awful. I finally took my camera in to get fixed.

Happy New Year

I hope that everyone has a fantastic New Year and all your dreams come true.
My New Year's resolution is simple this year........I am going to take care of ME. When Mommy is happy everyone is happy. lol
We went to James and Queta's to ring in the New Year last night. Sydney and Caden fell asleep and didn't quite make it. We lit fireworks and had a ball.
The kids didn't get up until after 10am this morning. That was wonderful as they are usually up at 6am.

Birthday party

Spencer had his birthday party with his friends today, we went to the bowling alley. It turned out really well and everyone had a great time. It was the first time the kids had bowled and they did really well. There were 10 kids altogether including my four. After they bowled we had cake and opened presents. He got some great gifts too, thanks everyone!
I always breathe a sigh of relief when his party is over as that means all the December stress is done!!! Four birthdays and Christmas is a little overwhelming.

Happy birthday Spencer

My baby is 6, I can't believe how fast time is going.

We had a wonderful day today and Spencer got to pick what we did ALL day. That was the best present we could have given him. ha
We went to Pump It Up for open play in the morning. We played hard for the whole hour and a half. I can hardly move now though. I guess I am too old to be climbing through obstacle courses and behaving like a six year old. I feel like one though.......well actually I feel like someone ran over me with a truck right now. Maybe I should act my age, but that would be NO fun.
Then we went to feed the ducks and play in the playground at the park. Spencer got to pick where his birthday lunch would be and picked Olive Garden, totally surprised me. I figured we would be eating at Incredible Pizza for sure. We called and invited James, Queta and Rebecca to come with us and had a great lunch. The waiters sang to him for his birthday and embarrassed him, but I think he kind of enjoyed being the center of attention a little too. Then we came home for his birthday cookie and presents. Our good friends Sharyon and John and their daughter Kayla came over to give the kids all their birthday and Christmas presents. They thoroughly enjoyed that too.
Afterwards we rushed out the door to lazer tag. The little ones stayed out in the waiting area with me and played air hockey while we waited for Spencer and Dad to play. Spencer has been wanting to play for a while now and thought it was the coolest thing.
By this time lunch had worn off so we went to Wendys for "hangaburs" as Spencer calls them. Then home to bed. He told me it was the "best birthday ever!" I am so glad he enjoyed it so much.

Spencer, I can't believe how much you have grown up. You inspire me everday and I am in awe of how smart you are. You are reading very well already and learning so much everyday.
You are the sweetest little boy I know and are always trying to please everyone. You don't want anyone to be sad and try to fix it if they are. You have such a zest for life and enjoy every moment.
You are so cuddly, even at six and are always giving hugs and kisses. I truly enjoy spending time with you , we have so much fun!!!!
I hope this year brings you nothing but smiles and laughs!! I love you little man!!!!

Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful day today. The kids really enjoyed opening their presents and were done in no time. We stayed home and played with their new toys all day and had a great turkey dinner.
The kids were excited to see that the reindeer had eaten their carrots and read the notes that Santa left in their stockings. They wrote him letters and put pictures in their stockings for him Christmas Eve.
Its so much fun to see Christmas through their eyes. Just wish I had their stamina and I might not be so exhausted!!!
I hope everyone had a great day and Santa was good to you all.
